Let's snowshoe to Cerro Grande peak! The trail is about 4 miles round trip with a 1,300 ft elevation gain. Sweeping views of the Valles Caldera from the top, at 10,200 ft .
Departure time will be 9:30 am from the trailhead parking lot, located on State Route 4.
Please dress in layers and prepare for cold and windy weather. Bring snowshoes, trekking poles, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, and snacks.

The plan is to head up to Cumbres Pass and ski or snow shoe one of a variety of routes that start up FR 116 toward the Neff Mountain Yurt. We will plan to depart the LANB parking lot at 08:00. White Rock participants can meet at the Y parking area at 08:15, and participants from the valley or Santa Fe can meet at the Northern New Mexico campus at 08:30. Presuming we will be doing a final meet up at Northern, we will hold a quick brief there before pushing on up the road.

Los Alamos participants will plan on leaving from the LANB Parking Lot at 07:30, meeting White Rock participants and departing the Y parking area at 07:45. Santa Fe participants can meet the group at the Northern New Mexico Campus parking area in Espanola at 08:00. Both skiers and snowshoers are welcome.

While there is still snow, let's snowshoe up Pajarito Mountain on Halloween morning. The purpose is to get out your gear and get ready for winter.
Meet at the Lodge at Pajarito Mountain at 9 am on Halloween morning. If we have more than 5 people, we will break into smaller groups and select different routes up the mountain. Please bring your face mask and we will practice social distancing.
This trip is a bicycle ride on paved roads from Jemez Springs to the Gilman Tunnels and back. The Gilman tunnels are located in the most scenic section of the Guadalupe River Box and were originally blasted out of the rock in the 1920's for a logging railroad. The cottonwoods along the route will hopefully be near the peak of their fall colors, making it a most beautiful ride.
In the wake of a successful spring 2020 llama Canyon trip, our fall 2020 trip will try again for the Ladder Canyon area, which was too dry for camping in fall 2019. We have not yet visited Ladder Canyon, which lies beyond the First and Main area and above the Escalante River. First and Main was our fall 2006 and fall 2011 destination.
