Participants will meet at Los Alamos Nature Center on Saturday, August 20 at 9 AM and carpool to the trailhead. Expected return to the nature center is 5 PM on Sunday, August 21.

The upper Conejos offers access to the South San Juan wilderness via several trails on the west side of the Conejos, as well as the several trails upstream of Platoro Reservoir, such as the 3 Forks trail. One can explore the high country and high lakes, and as well hike along the Conejos itself. Fly fishing is a possibility – trip leader Bill might be able to share the river with a would-be angler or two. We will establish a base at the Conejos Lake Fork Ranch, which offers rustic cabins high up along the Conejos valley.
