Beginner Backpack

Would you like to try backpacking, but do not have the gear?   Join PEEC/LAM for a beginner backpack trip.  PEEC has a full set of packs/tents/sleeping bags to borrow for this trip.  

We will hike from the Santa Fe Ski Basin to Puerto Nambe (4.5 miles) and camp for one night.  There is a pre-meeting on Monday July 17 at 5:30 at PEEC, to go over the hiking plan, gear needed, and to borrow the gear that you need.  It will be important to try out packing your pack with your food, clothing, tent, etc. prior to hiking on Saturday.

We will meet on Saturday July 22 at 9 am at PEEC to carpool.  Drive to Santa Fe Ski Basin and begin hiking.  We will have the late afternoon and Sunday morning to explore the area around Puerto Nambe.  We will hike out on Sunday, mid-morning, and return to PEEC mid-afternoon.
