Ghost Ranch Exploratory Hike

Let's do some more exploring around Ghost Ranch and its rock formations. I'd like to try to close a loop between Box Canyon and the Kitchen Mesa trail - going up Box Canyon to the route up and out on the CDT alternate route, above and around the dry falls in Box Canyon, then looping cross-country to intersect the Kitchen Mesa trail and return to Ghost Ranch headquarters. We've had many interesting outings on the Ghost Ranch Mesas, and this will be one more. We will meet in Los Alamos at 8:30 AM, carpool to Ghost Ranch past Abiquiu, and set out on our hike, aiming to be back at the cars not later than 4:00-5:00. We can expect fine views of the Abiquiu valley and the Jemez beyond, particularly Pedernal Peak. We will register at Ghost Ranch headquarters to pay our $10 per person fee (or one can pay online in advance at https://www.ghostranch.org/activities/). IMO, the fee is a modest way to thank Ghost Ranch for keep their spaces open to the public. Bring clothes suitable for whatever the weather might bring, lunch, water, and sun protection.
