Beginner Backpack

LAM and PEEC are offering a beginner backpack trip on Saturday October 6 - Sunday October 7th.   This is an opportunity to get acquainted with packs, tents, stoves, and then go on an easy backpack.

We will meet to carpool from Los Alamos and then drive about an hour to Santa Barbara campground.  The backpack trip will start from Santa Barbara Campground and the hike will go about 3 miles into the Pecos Wilderness.  We will do a day hike from our campsite later on Saturday, and then return to Los Alamos on Sunday by around 1 pm.  Backpacking equipment will be available from PEEC - we will meet at 5:30 pm on Wednesday October 3rd to go over equipment/clothing, fit packs, etc.
