Monday Ski Hill Hike

I’ll be there for our regular Monday hike tomorrow, the 18th, looking forward to a landscape softened by this weekend’s rain. Tomorrow should be clear but not hot, so definitely cool at dinnertime at the top. The standard Monday meeting time is 5:30 PM. We meet at the bottom of the ski hill road, where it branches off from the road that comes past the ice rink and starts going steeply uphill, per the map below.  It takes 30 to 45 minutes to reach the top going straight up under the Aspen lift, closer to an hour if we switchback up on the road, and the effort is good for body and soul.  We usually get back to town sometime between 8:00 to 8:30 PM.  The high point of the outing (literally and figuratively) is a potluck dinner/snack, enjoying the views from the top of the hill.  

Please bring your contribution to the picnic dinner. In addition to warm clothes, a daypack with a headlamp, liquids, and rain jacket is advised. It can be cool at the summit - in the 50's - at the beginning and end of the hiking season.
