Stairway to Heaven (Provo Canyon, Utah) |
Beta Images Slide Show
The Utah version of this climb is considerably more serious than its counterpart by the same name in Colorado. Comprised of five good pitches of fat curtain ice followed by two pitches of mixed climbing of increasing technical difficulty, this climb can provide a challenge for almost all ability levels, depending on how high you decide to go. This is the 3-star route in Provo Canyon, but there is enough more quality ice in the Salt Lake area in a good season to motivate a road trip or flight into Salt Lake City. Bring your skiis in case the ice isn't in to enjoy world-class lift and cross-country skiing. |
