Mount Waddington Southwest Face |
Beta Images Slide Show
One of the big "adventure climbs" in the collection - remote, difficult, and committing. The climbing becomes harder the higher you go, with the technical and route-finding crux at the top. Seldom done for these reasons, in spite of its quality and history. Access to the peak has in the past been one of the big deterrents - typically a multi-week bushwhack from the ocean through grizzly country. Helicopter service is now available from Tatla Lake if you aren't looking for quite that level of adventure. Even with the easier access, years go by with no attempts on this route, much less successes. |
