Questa Dome Questa Direct |
Beta Images Slide Show
One of the finest routes in New Mexico, Questa Direct takes the most aesthetic and direct line up the center of a "Dome" that would not be out of place in Tuolumne meadows in Yosemite. The route combines the best pitches of two original routes called Another Pretty Face and Question of Balance, and adds a direct finish over the imposing roof that crosses the entire face. Perfect granite, difficult and continuous climbing, and a variety of climbing techniques including friction, cracks, dihedrals, and a challenging roof make up a memorable and beautiful climb. The term "uncrowded" would be a substantial understatement for this route, and indeed for the entire geologic feature. Note: the Jackson guide has useful information about the feature, but is substantially in error in describing its routes. |
