Grand Teton

Direct Exum Ridge

Beta Images Slide Show

The lower half of the route contains almost all of the technical climbing, with the Black Face the crux. The technical difficulties ease at mid-height when you reach "Wall Street." Wall Street is the access to the upper Exum Ridge, a popular climb in itself. Get an early start, it is a big day. This route is very popular, but the traffic dies down late in the season after the guide service packs up and leaves the lower saddle.
