Clyde Minaret

Southeast Face

Beta Images Slide Show

An excellent climb in a remote alpine setting. A three-day proposition given the long approach hike. The photo in Roper and Steck shows the direct start, which at 5.9+ is much harder than the more frequently used alternative. Start about 100' up the gully between Ken and Clyde Minaret on the true S. Face to limit your difficulty to 5.8. The 1st pitch traverses right around the corner to the SE Face from here. See the reference guide book for details.
