Access Fund - Vertical Times Newsletter

The Vertical Times newsletter, the Access Fund's bimonthly publication, provides up-to-date news on policy, area reports, events, action alerts, grants, and more.  It is a benefit to members and non-members alike; indeed, it is a benefit to the entire climbing community.  View the current edition by clicking here.

The Access Fund supports and represents over 1.6 million climbers nationwide in ALL forms of climbing; Rock Climbing, Ice Climbing, Mountaineering, and Bouldering.  Five core programs support the mission on national and local levels: public policy, stewardship & conservation (including grants), grassroots activism, climber education, and land acquisition.

Mission: The Access Fund keeps climbing areas open and conserves the climbing environment.

Vision: The Access Fund envisions a future in which climbing and access to climbing resources are viewed as legitimate, valued, and positive uses of the land; where climbers respect and appreciate the places they climb so that the climbing environment is conserved for current and future generations.

Why Become a Member:

  • Nearly 85 cents of every membership dollar funds projects and services that conserve climbing access, protect the climbing environment, and minimize impacts and restrictions across the U.S.
  • Your donations allow the Access Fund to work with legislators, acquire land to open or preserve climbing, assist with formation of Local Climbing Organizations across the country, and more
  • By joining, you take an active role in protecting and conserving climbing areas for this and future generations.
