This is a repeat of a successful trip held in August 2022. I would not be scheduling it so early, but found when I checked that only one opening was still available for summer 2023. The upper Conejos offers access to the South San Juan wilderness via several trails on the west side of the Conejos, as well as the several trails upstream of Platoro Reservoir, such as the 3 Forks trail. One can explore the high country and high lakes, and as well hike along the Conejos itself. Fly fishing is a possibility – trip leader Bill might be able to share the river with a would-be angler or two. We will establish a base at the Conejos Lake Fork Ranch, which offers rustic cabins high up along the Conejos valley. See http://www.conejoslakeforkranch.com. I have rented the largest, 3-bedroom cabin, which will have room for several of us. Persons wanting more privacy might rent one of the A frame cabins. Three of them appear to be available as of September 2022. We will leave Los Alamos on the morning of Thursday, July 13 (a later start is possible), and spend that afternoon and the next 3 days exploring, returning to Los Alamos on July 18.  We will cook dinners together at the big house. Please let Bill know if you want to join the adventure. If you want to rent one of the smaller units for yourself, please reserve directly with the ranch.
